What Is Laminated Steel?
Laminated steel — also referred to as film-laminated steel or film-coated metal — is a steel substrate that has been cleaned, chemically pretreated, and bonded with a decorative or functional polymer film before fabrication.
The result is a pre-finished material that arrives ready to cut, form, and assemble — with no secondary painting, printing, or surface treatment required at your facility. The film surface delivers consistent color, texture, and finish across every coil, along with scratch resistance and easy cleaning that painted surfaces rarely match at the same cost.
Laminated steel is widely specified for refrigerator inner liners, appliance door panels, interior fit-out surfaces, furniture components, and transportation panels. The right product depends on your film type, service environment, and surface finish.

Why Choose Everesteel Laminated Steel
Direct from the Manufacturer — No Intermediary
Every coil is laminated at Everesteel's own factory in Jiangyin, Jiangsu, on our own film-bonding and processing lines. You are not buying from a trading company. That means direct control over your specifications, direct accountability for quality, and no margin added by a middleman.
26,000+ Tons Annual Capacity for Consistent Supply
Our production capacity supports both sample-stage procurement and full-volume recurring orders. Whether you are qualifying a new material or scaling an established panel line, Everesteel can maintain supply continuity without sourcing from third parties.
Full Specification Control at the Lamination Line
Because we operate our own lamination lines, we match film type, substrate, thickness, pattern, and finish to your actual application — not a generic grade. Specifications are confirmed, not assumed, before production begins.
Wide Film and Pattern Range Matched In-House
VCM, PVC, and PET films are held in a broad range of solid colors, wood grains, stone effects, and printed patterns. Custom pattern matching is produced directly on our lines, with samples provided for buyer approval before the full run.
Downstream Processing — Coil, Slit, or Sheet
Slitting, cut-to-length, film lamination, and protective film application are all available in-house. Your material can arrive in the exact format your production line needs — not just as master coil.
Buyers in 65+ Countries
Everesteel supplies procurement teams and panel manufacturers in over 65 countries, with a 98.7% on-time delivery rate and more than 6,800 global buyers served.

Applications by Industry
Processing Capabilities
Downstream processing is available in-house — orders can be delivered in the format your production line requires, not just as master coils.
Slitting
Coils can be slit to custom widths from 20 mm and above. Tight width tolerances and clean slit edges reduce material waste and downstream handling.
Cut-to-Length
Sheet blanks cut to specified dimensions with flatness and squareness tolerances suitable for direct press or roll-former feeding.
Film Lamination
VCM, PVC, and PET films bonded to the substrate under controlled temperature and pressure for consistent adhesion and finish across every coil.
Embossing
Structural or decorative emboss patterns applied in-line. Common patterns include wood grain, leather, linen, and custom tooled profiles.
Protective Film Application
Peelable protective films applied to the laminated surface for transit protection, scratch resistance, and clean handling through fabrication.

Quality Control and Certifications
Everesteel maintains a documented quality management system across every stage of production — from incoming substrate inspection through to final coil labeling and packaging.
In-process controls include:
- Incoming coil substrate inspection (thickness, zinc coating weight, mechanical properties)
- Film adhesion and bonding strength testing
- Film thickness and surface uniformity measurement
- Gloss, color, and pattern registration checks against approved reference standards
- Salt spray and humidity cabinet testing for selected grades
- Final dimensional check prior to packaging
Test reports and material certifications (mill certificates) are issued with each shipment. Third-party inspection — including SGS, BV, and CCIC — can be arranged on request prior to loading.
Our certifications and documented quality controls support buyer qualification, export compliance, and consistent product quality across repeat orders.

FAQs
Q1. What is the difference between VCM, PVC, and PET laminated steel?
All three bond a polymer film to a steel substrate — the difference is the film. VCM (vinyl-coated metal) uses a thicker vinyl film that delivers a deep, rich finish and excellent deep-draw formability, making it ideal for appliance exteriors. PVC laminated steel uses a PVC film available in the widest range of wood grain, stone, and decorative patterns, suited to interior panels and furniture. PET laminated steel uses a thin polyester film that is glossy, chemical-resistant, and PVC-free, making it the choice for refrigerator liners and hygiene-sensitive interiors. If you are unsure which film fits your project, share your application details and we will advise.
Q2. Which laminated steel is best for refrigerator inner liners?
PET laminated steel is the standard choice for refrigerator inner liners. Its polyester film delivers a clean, glossy, easy-to-clean surface with strong resistance to food acids, cleaning agents, and staining. It is also PVC-free, which suits appliance brands with environmental or food-contact requirements. Share your liner dimensions and forming needs and we will confirm the right specification.
Q3. Which laminated steel is best for appliance exteriors?
VCM laminated steel is the most common choice for appliance exteriors such as refrigerator fronts and washing machine lids. Its thicker vinyl film provides a deep, decorative finish and holds up well through deep-draw forming without cracking or delaminating. PVC laminated steel is also used where a wider decorative pattern range is the priority.
Q4. Is Everesteel a manufacturer or a trading company?
Everesteel is a manufacturer. Every coil supplied is laminated at our own factory in Jiangyin, Jiangsu, on our own film-bonding and processing lines. We do not source product from third-party mills and resell it. Buying factory-direct means your specification is controlled at the source, and you have direct access to our technical team throughout the process.
Q5. What is the minimum order quantity?
Our standard minimum order quantity is 5 tons per specification. For custom films, patterns, or non-standard dimensions requiring new setup, we recommend 5–10 tons. Contact us to discuss your project volume — we accommodate both sampling requirements and full production orders.
Q6. Can I supply my own film or request a custom pattern?
Yes. We work with a broad in-house range of VCM, PVC, and PET films, and we can also match a customer-provided film reference, color, or physical sample. Our team produces a lamination sample for review, followed by a production sample for written approval before the full run begins.
Q7. What quality documentation is provided with each shipment?
Every shipment is accompanied by a mill certificate and test report covering the relevant parameters for your specification — including substrate properties, film adhesion, film thickness, gloss, and color. Everesteel holds ISO 9001 quality management system certification. Third-party pre-shipment inspection by SGS, BV, CCIC, or your nominated inspector can be arranged on request.
Q8. Can you supply material as slit coil or cut-to-length sheet rather than master coil?
Yes. We operate slitting and cut-to-length lines in-house. Coils can be slit to custom widths from 20 mm and above, and sheet blanks can be cut to your specified dimensions with flatness and squareness tolerances suitable for direct press or roll-former feeding. Sheets are stacked, interleaved with protective paper where required, and packaged for export.
Q9. What is the typical lead time for laminated steel orders?
Standard lead time is 15–25 days from order confirmation and deposit receipt. Custom films or patterns requiring new setup may add 7–10 days for sample approval. Expedited scheduling may be available depending on production capacity at the time of order. We confirm your lead time when we respond to your inquiry.
