What is PPGI?
Prepainted galvanized steel (PPGI) — also referred to as color-coated galvanized steel or pre-coated steel coil — is a cold-rolled or hot-dip galvanized steel substrate that has been cleaned, chemically treated, primed, and coated with an organic paint system prior to fabrication.
The result is a pre-finished steel material that combines structural integrity with decorative surface quality. PPGI coil and sheet eliminate the need for secondary painting or surface treatment at your facility, reducing production costs and shortening manufacturing lead times.
PPGI is widely specified for home appliance panels, refrigeration equipment casings, roofing and wall cladding, door skins, and interior architectural panels.
Core Advantages
Corrosion Resistance You Can Specify by Environment
PPGI combines a hot-dip galvanized base with a factory-applied organic paint system, creating a dual-layer barrier against moisture, oxidation, and chemical exposure. Because we run our own coating lines, we match zinc coating weight (Z60–Z275) and paint system to your actual service environment — indoor appliance panels, humid interiors, or exposed exterior cladding — rather than shipping one generic grade for every use case.
Formability Verified Before It Reaches Your Line
The galvanized base and flexible coating are engineered to survive roll-forming, stamping, and deep-drawing without cracking or delamination. We validate adhesion with cross-cut and T-bend testing on every batch, so the coils that arrive at your press or roll-former perform to the geometry your production requires — no surprises during forming, no rejected panels downstream.
A Consistent Finish That Removes Your Painting Step
Every coil leaves our line pre-finished with a uniform, decorative surface — eliminating painting booths, drying ovens, and secondary finishing at your factory. More importantly, because color and gloss are controlled in-house against approved reference standards, batch-to-batch consistency stays tight across repeat orders, protecting your throughput and reducing rework.
Custom Color and Pattern, Produced In-House
Standard RAL and Pantone colors are held as stock references, and we formulate custom color matches for OEM and brand-specific palettes directly on our own coating lines. Printed options — including wood grain and marble effect — are produced on the same equipment, so you get a lab drawdown and production sample for approval before mass production, with one supplier accountable for the match.

Surface and Pattern Options
PPGI is available across a broad range of surface effects to match the functional and aesthetic requirements of your end product.

Solid Colors
Uniform single-tone finishes in white, grey, black, blue, red, and custom RAL/Pantone references. Suitable for appliance housings, door panels, and construction cladding.

High Gloss
Mirror-smooth surfaces with high reflectivity, commonly used for kitchen appliance facings and interior decorative panels.

Matte / Low Gloss
Flat finish with reduced light reflection — preferred for premium appliances, office furniture panels, and architectural interior applications.

Wrinkle / Texture Finish
Structured surface that improves scratch resistance and adds a tactile quality. Often specified for commercial equipment housings and utility panels.

Wood Grain Print
Photorealistic wood patterns applied directly to the PPGI surface, replacing natural veneer in wall cladding, ceiling tiles, and furniture panel applications.

Marble / Stone Effect Print
Decorative stone-effect surfaces for interior panels, elevator linings, and commercial fit-out projects.

Anti-Fingerprint Coating
Topcoat formulation that resists surface smudging — specified for premium kitchen appliances and high-touch surface panels.
Processing Capabilities
Downstream processing is available in-house — orders can be delivered in the format your production line requires, not just in master coil form.
Slitting
Coils can be slit to custom widths from 20 mm and above. Tight width tolerances and clean slit edges reduce material waste and downstream handling.
Cut-to-Length
Sheet blanks cut to specified dimensions with flatness and squareness tolerances suitable for direct press or roll-former feeding.
Embossing
Structural or decorative emboss patterns applied in-line. Common patterns include linen, stucco, and custom tooled profiles.
Lamination
Protective or decorative films applied to the coated surface for transit protection, enhanced scratch resistance, or additional decorative effect.
Custom Color Matching
Paint formulation adjusted to match a customer-provided physical sample or color code. Approval sample provided prior to production run.

Typical Applications
Quality Control and Certifications
Everesteel maintains a documented quality management system across every stage of production — from incoming substrate inspection through to final coil labeling and packaging.
In-process controls include:
- Incoming coil substrate inspection (thickness, zinc coating weight, mechanical properties)
- Paint film thickness measurement at coating line
- Adhesion testing (cross-cut and T-bend)
- Gloss and color measurement against approved reference standards
- Salt spray and humidity cabinet testing for selected grades
- Final dimensional check prior to packaging
Test reports and material certifications (mill certificates) are issued with each shipment. Third-party inspection — including SGS, BV, and CCIC — can be arranged prior to loading on request.
We hold international authoritative certifications to ensure our products meet global market access standards and production quality requirements.

FAQs
Q1. What is the minimum order quantity for PPGI coil?
Our standard minimum order quantity is 5 tons per specification. For custom colors or non-standard dimensions, we recommend a minimum of 5–10 tons to cover setup and color formulation costs. Contact us to discuss your specific project volume.
Q2. How long does custom color matching take?
Once you submit your target color reference, our technical team typically produces a lab drawdown within 5–7 working days. Production sample approval and full order lead time will depend on your total quantity and current scheduling. We will confirm your timeline when we receive your inquiry.
Q3. Can you supply PPGI in cut sheet format rather than coil?
Yes. We operate cut-to-length lines on-site and can supply PPGI in sheet format to your specified dimensions. Sheets are stacked, interleaved with protective paper where required, and packaged for export.
Q4. What coating weight and paint system do you recommend for outdoor construction applications?
For roofing and exterior cladding, we typically recommend a minimum zinc coating weight of Z180 g/m² and a 20-micron PVDF or SMP topcoat system for long-term weather and UV resistance. Our technical team can advise on the most appropriate specification for your regional climate and project requirements.
Q5. What quality testing is performed before shipment?
Each production batch undergoes coating thickness measurement, adhesion testing, hardness testing (pencil and cross-cut), impact resistance testing, and salt spray testing. Documentation including mill certificates and test reports is provided with each shipment. Everesteel holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
Q6. Do you accept third-party factory audits or pre-shipment inspections?
Yes. We welcome factory audits from buyers and third-party inspection agencies. Pre-shipment inspection by SGS, BV, or your nominated inspector can be arranged. Please inform us at the time of order placement.
